Our mission is to create brighter futures for children and young people. We do this by providing fostering, residential and support services where children and young people can feel safe and cared for. We support them to make positive relationships which give them the confidence to succeed.

There are many ways you can support St Christopher's work with children and young people. Find out how you can help young people reach their goals.
Supporting young people now and into the future
Every day, St Christopher’s works tirelessly to create brighter futures for children and young people. Our Trustees and Directors have developed a strategy to grow our services over the coming years so that we can help even more young people.
Sam Olsen, Director of Strategy and Development, explained: “Over the last 10 years, St Christopher’s has almost doubled in size and has been able to support more children and young people than ever through a range of new projects. Our ambition for the next five years is to continue growing so that we can look after twice as many young people as we do now.
“We also intend to develop sufficient services to ensure that no child has to move to a home more than 20 miles from the borough where they live, unless they have a special need to. We are proud of the thread of support we give children as they grow up with us. Whether they are living in a foster care family, a children’s home or accommodation for those aged 16 and over, all children and young people receive the same high quality St Christopher’s care.”
This year, we have already won contracts to run three new services in London which will care for vulnerable young people aged 16 and over. We have also recently opened Cornock-Taylor House to support young people in West London.
Layla is one of the young people living at Cornock-Taylor. Leaving a home environment of neglect and abuse, Layla struggled to settle in to foster care and was involved in petty thefts and antisocial behaviour.
Realising she needed to move away from the negative influences of friends in her area led Layla to move into Cornock-Taylor.
Now she is with us her confidence is growing and she is looking for an apprenticeship in retail. One of our key aims is to ensure that 90% of young people are engaged in some form of education, employment or training within three months of arriving in our care. Like all the young people we work with, Layla is being supported in a safe and secure environment to achieve her ambitions.
Sam said: “We can only develop new services for young people like Layla with your on-going support. Whether you choose to make a donation, remember us in your will, hold a cake sale in your office or take part in a fundraising event for us this year, thank you so much from me, Layla and all the young people at St Christopher’s.”
