Winners of the 2022 Hickinbotham Awards announced

The awards created in 2011 by Tony Hickinbotham, a previous Chair of St Christopher’s, and his wife Susan, a former trustee financially support young people to further their goals and life plans.

Six winners of this year’s Hickinbotham Awards have been announced, with money going towards tutoring, gym membership and music equipment all of which will help young people reach their full potential and achieve a brighter future.

We’re thrilled to announce that the following applications have been successful:

◦Tuition fees to support a young person to thrive in their education and eventually achieve their ambition to study marine biology at university

◦Gym membership for a young person on the Isle of Man who aspires to join the Royal Marines

◦A contribution towards music equipment for a South London young person to explore their burgeoning creative talents

◦A young person purchasing a bicycle to travel to work

◦Funding for a camera for a young person west London taking up photography

◦Funding for a young person from the Isle of Man to follow his passion and talent for DJing

Very well done to all the young people in their successful applications. We’re looking forward to seeing them embrace these new opportunities enabled by the awards.

The applications for this year's award were stronger than ever, and I am really excited that these six young people can take a step closer to getting where they want to be. Thank you to colleagues who encouraged and supported young people to make their applications. A big thank you to the Hickinbothams for their continued support each year, and well done to the winners.
