“I found St Christopher’s to be inclusive and welcoming”

People want to work at St Christopher’s in order to make a difference to young people’s lives. But we also invest in our staff so they can learn new skills, progress in their job and represent the best of their profession.

Find out more as Roger, a Waking Nights Support Worker at our of our supported accommodation homes, tells his story.

Why did you want to work at St Christopher’s?

Having worked within several organisations, I found St Christopher’s to be a much more inclusive and welcoming company to work for with a culture of promoting from within and much more competitive pay/rewards.

What do you enjoy about your job?

Making a positive difference in the lives of our young people and having the opportunity to lead as a responsible role model for our young people. Also, sharing my life long experiences to help and encourage them  into making a positive contribution to the local community.

What would you say to someone interested/ looking to join the profession?

Do not enter the profession simply for the income, but primarily for the job satisfaction and positive contribution we can all make as professionals.
